Toile de Jouy is a decorative style that became popular in 18th-century France and is characterised by finely depicted pastoral landscapes, plants, animals and scenes of everyday life. In HAZEL jacquard, this classic French aesthetic is expressed in natural wild silk.

The HAZEL Toile de Jouy pattern gives the bedding a refined, classic character, yet its delicate design and light natural silk colour keep it from appearing heavy or overly ornate. Nature-inspired and pastoral motifs create a sense of calm and freshness, while the subtly yellowish shade of wild silk brings warmth to the bedroom. This combination is particularly well suited to classic and neoclassical interiors, French-style bedrooms and bright contemporary spaces where a subtle touch of classical luxury is desired.

The wild silk used for HAZEL is left undyed, preserving its naturally characteristic, subtly yellowish colour. In China, wild silk is known as tussah – a term also used in the names of both HAZEL jacquard and the coordinating HELIOS TUSSAH silk satin.

We recommend HAZEL jacquard for duvet covers and pillowcases, where the detailed Toile de Jouy pattern can be fully appreciated in the interior. For sheets, we recommend HELIOS TUSSAH silk satin, whose natural colour complements the HAZEL tussah jacquard. HELIOS TUSSAH silk is particularly well suited to sheets because the body rests with its full weight against the exceptionally soft tussah silk fabric throughout the night. This allows you to experience the comfort of a silk sheet to the fullest.

Construction of Duvet Covers, Pillowcases and Sheets:

• duvet covers are finished with a zipper closure;

• Oxford-style pillowcases can be made with or without a decorative 5 cm border;

• silk sheets are usually made as fitted sheets and can accommodate mattresses up to 40 cm high; flat silk sheets are also available and are particularly suitable for beds with integrated mattresses;

• other construction details can be adjusted to individual requirements.

Silk Bedding Care

Machine wash silk bedding at up to 30°C using the “Silk” or another gentle cycle. Use only detergents suitable for silk or wool.
